Reflect on the Year of Prayer 2020

Sing praise to the Lord you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Psalms 30: 4-5

Has it been difficult for you to sing praise and give thanks to the Lord on a regular and consistent basis this 2020 year? As I reflect back on my personal journey, I can see so many times where the Lord has drawn me back to that place of praise and thankfulness. Sometimes it has been when I have felt desperate and anxious. Other times have  been when His presence has felt like a warm blanket of of comfort and protection. I love the fact that His favor is for Life. Yes we will go through grief and despair but joy will come again. It’s in THE BOOK !

Dear Jesus, today I will choose to sing praises to you and worship you as my Lord and my Savior. I give you thanks for your love and faithfulness all year long. Forgive me when I grow weary and negative and narrow my perspective only on the things that I can see; which always look so grim. I pray by your Holy Spirit, that you continue to teach me about all the things you are doing that I do not see. I pray my mind is transformed and renewed daily so that I hear you saying “this is the way, walk in it.”  Dear Lord, bring joy to those who are so overwhelmed with grief and sadness. Let them know, you love them and have a wonderful plan for their lives. Thank you that your anger is only for a moment but your favor is for a lifetime. What a gift!! JESUS was born, lived a perfect life that we could not, paid the debt of our sins, and rose so that we could live eternity with Him. And remember the part that is so helpful now–when He rose He sent the Holy Spirit for us now to be our teacher, counselor, and comforter.
