Pray for Wisdom and Discernment

My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.

Proverbs 3: 21-22

How can we keep wisdom, discernment, and sound judgement in sight? Scripture gives us many warnings not to lose sight of what is important and the blessings that result by remaining mindful of them. “They will be life for you an ornament to grace you neck.”

Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, do you pray for wisdom, discernment, and sound judgement? Wisdom discernment and sound judgement will empower you with tools for life. Did you know that prayer unlocks the doors of heaven so that thy kingdom will come on earth as it is in heaven?

Let’s Pray

Today Lord we come rejoicing in your presence. You alone are worthy of all honor and praise. It is in you alone we find a refuge and strength to face each new day. When we look at our nation and the world you created, it is easy to become hopeless. But today we pray for wisdom, discernment, and sound judgement for our families and our leaders. Empower us through the Holy Spirit to speak life and hope into the lives of those who are hopeless and destructive. Awaken the body of Christ to be practicing the principles found in your word and loving one another so that others are drawn to you. Lord, give wisdom, discretion, and sound judgment to our church leaders so they do not grow weary and stumble. Teach them your ways daily and let them know they are loved with an everlasting love. Finally Lord give me wisdom, discernment, and sound judgement. Help me to always guard my mind and instrument of grace and peace in the world. Thank you Lord that you hear our prayer and our hearts that seek to live in your will and grace.

In Jesus’ name Amen.
