Humble Yourself

f my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their  sin,  and heal their land.

2 Chron 7: 14

And because lawlessness  WILL abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Mat 24: 12-13

I am hearing the above passages many times among Christian friends. But what does this mean to me personally and for the Body of Christ? What does it mean to humble yourself and pray? I believe that  many, including myself, have not taken this seriously; this action of humbling myself. It is a complete surrender to the will of God for the outcome. It means to admit when I am wrong, to pay back what I owe, to forgive,  and to have God’s love and acceptance be enough. Who can do that?  With God’s help we can. Philp. 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  What does lawlessness mean? The Greek word for lawlessness is anomia and means the utter disregard for God’s law. It has to do with the condition of the soul without the law. We are in a very vulnerable time for the human race but for the Christian it could and should be an exciting time of strengthening and preparation. For what? Christ’s return!!! But who thinks persecution and rejection is exciting. Ugh? Be joyful always pray without ceasing. ! Thes. 5:16-17. Did you know that prayer and praise unlock the doors of heaven so that thy kingdom will come on earth as it is in heaven. Come Lord Jesus.

Let’s PRAY

Dear Lord we give you thanks that nothing happens apart from your knowledge. Help each of us today to learn how we can humble ourselves, seek your face and turn from our wicked ways. Forgive us when we see more of the wicked ways of others and not our own. Help us Lord not to grow weary in doing good. Lord today we lift up President Trump and our Vice-President Pence to you. Give them wisdom and teach them to be humble and to seek your face for every decision. Give wisdom to state leaders so they can make decisions regarding laws to protect. Lord we lift our law officers to you. Only you know all that is happening and the lawlessness that is abounding. Father, we pray this would be a time that many would turn to you as Lord and Savior. We pray that the Body of Christ would be unified and committed to loving one another with the love of Jesus. Help us Lord to always be aware of your presence as we walk through our day and to be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks (us) to give a reason for the hope that(we) you have with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15.
