Fear NOT for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.Isiah 41: 10
I have said all these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.John 16: 33
When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my heart.Psalm 94
Have you ever noticed that most of the time what you have feared the most never happens? For this reason I think that the problem is not fear itself, but the anxiety that can so easily overwhelm us when we do not know what is going to happen. The Bible is filled with verses regarding fear and anxiety because our Savior knows we desire certainty and control. There are many other sources to turn to that often give you a temporary and false sense of security; but none of them will give you lasting peace and security. Jesus is the only solution and answer to our fear and anxiety. His Word is the only source to turn for peace and relief.
Dear Jesus, Today we turn to you as our only true source of peace and security. Forgive us when we seek other means to relieve our fearful and anxious thoughts. You truly are the ALPHA and OMEGA and have everything taken care of in between. Thank you that every single time we turn to you, even when the circumstances are grim, you promise to strengthen us and help us. Help us to trust in you with all of our heart and lean not on our understanding and in all of our ways acknowledge you and YOU will direct our paths. Thank you that we are the crown of your creation and carriers of the light of Christ. Today Lord, and tomorrow too, help us to hear that small voice that says, “this is the way, walk in it”. Show us those people who need a word of encouragement or even a smile that communicates appreciation and compassion. Teach us to be giving and forgiving. Thank you Lord for the Bride of Christ, the church. Help us each do our part in preparing HER for your return. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN
BE ENCOURAGED, Lucy
