Give Him Thanks

Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand I awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.

Habakkuk 3: 2

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

James 5: 16

Search me O God and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way of everlasting.

Psalm 139: 23-24

Do you want God to hear and answer your prayers for your loved ones and our nation? Scripture reminds us to approach the throne of grace with a clean heart. Many prayers in the Bible are preceded by the person recalling to God what He has done in the past; giving Him thanks for His faithfulness in the past. Habakkuk does that. We are desperate for His intervention. Did you know that prayer unlocks the doors of heaven so that thy kingdom may come on earth as it is in heaven?

Come Lord Jesus inhabit the praise and worship of your people. We stand in awe of you mighty deeds and plead for your forgiveness as individuals and collectively as the church and nation. Forgive us when we lash out or  complain and then do nothing. Search our heart and our motives. Help us turn from wickedness so our prayers will be fervent. Teach us your way; show us your righteous path. Dear Lord today we lift our nation, the USA to you. We lift all of the men and women who are running for a political office to you . For those who know you as Lord and Savior, give them wisdom and favor and guard their hearts so that they stay close to you. For those who have plans that are opposed to your will and your ways, change them or discipline them in a way that turns them to you. Thank you Lord for those who are willing to stand firm on your promises; give them courage to speak up for truth and shield them with faith to withstand the fiery darts thrown at them. In your wrath, remember mercy. Hear our prayer O Lord and revive our hearts and our nation.

In Jesus’ name,
